There really is no choice in the matter if I throw a double 6 and my opponent throws a 2-1, splitting his back men. If I throw a double 5, I’m running, period.

Virtually anything I then throw in this situation puts me into a very good running game. In fact, half of the possible throws even encourage me to double on my next turn if my opponent doesn’t make a great toss.
