From The Backgammon Book, by Oswald Jacoby and John R. Crawford

White to play 5-2.

This is always a poor throw, but black’s man at your bar point has even ruined your normal play. We recommend that you move a man from black twelve point to your eight point and a man from your six to your four point. This is in line with the general principle that if you have to expose a blot to a direct shot, expose one where it will help you most if your blot isn’t hit.
