| White to play 6-4. |
One of the few bad rolls in this position. We favor the play of moving two men from the black twelve point. One secures your nine point; the other becomes a blot on your bar point. Twenty-four rolls can hit that blot (any 6 or 3, plus 5-1 and 4-2) but it is no great loss to you, and if black does not hit the blot, you’ll have a sure-fire position in which to double the stakes, it is so strong. All other plays with this roll leave you with an unsound position.
