I have played Acey-ducy for over 60 years..it was favorite game in the US
Navy...maybe still is for all I know..My Dad who was in the US Navy from
1916 to 1946 was the best... I must say he was the only one who could beat
me..the Version we played was the most liberal..all checkers off to
start...bring them on on the appropriate dice numer of 1-6..advance
without ant restrictions so long as you don't end up on a space with two
opponent checkers. Anytime you end up with one of the dice numbers placing
your checker on a spot with an opponent single checker you kick (send) the
opponet home ...the opponent cannot advance any checker until he gets
the "kicked " checker back on the board. Sometimes when you are very
lucky you can have your opponent in the position with more than one
checker kicked. This kicking procedure can make up for your opponents
better luck in rolling higer numbers. It is the strategy employed with
blocking and kicking that separates the men from the boys.

In my version only the roll of Acey Ducy provides the opportunity to roll
again after the play of the 1 and 2 and the 4 1-6 selected. If unable to
play the ace and duce and the four of a kind (1-6) selected you lose the
rest of your turn.

Essentially the rest of the rules described are the same regarding
removing Checkers...other than all checkers must be in the last six
spots ...inside quarter of the board on opponents side before one can
remove any checker. Sometimes when the opponent gets ahead early in the
game because of extrordinary dice rolls one may hold a checker or two
back to try and interrupt the opponents taking checkers off by kicking.
Then try to keep kicking the opponent back as he tries to get back around
the board because he may not continue removing checkers until the kicked
checker is once again in the final six spaces. All fun and very fast
game. Certainly one must learn a very antagonizing way of shouting
out "Aaaacey Duuuucy! " whenever he rolls the 1-2. ENJOY
