Remember that you are not required to make the higher move first: you can move the lower one first if you wish. I have seen good players forget this in the heat of battle; it’s an easy mistake.
The correct play is to make the one move first, from the 4 point to the 3 point, and then to bear this man off. It’s obvious, but sometimes too obvious. Unfortunately, some over-anxious players take off the man from the 4 point, and then move a man from W3 to W2, leaving a vulnerable blot on W3. A simple mistake.
