Alex Zamanian: I prefer 13/9 6/3 which unstacks the 6 point and doesn't strip the midpoint. An upside to playing 13/9 13/10 is that it duplicates 5s. Also, White has to give up his anchor to hit. Still, I don't think these arguments compensate for the pretty distribution after 13/9 6/3.

Annotation

Christian Toth: In my opinion this move doesn't go with the spirit of the position, which is to make points and try to run home because of the slight race advantage and the anchor on the 5-point. Furthermore, it leaves a slot in the 2-point that doesn't improve the position in the future. So, 13/9 10/9 prepares builders and obviously loses less pips when hit on the 13-point instead of the 2-point.

Bots: Snowie agrees with the move played and thinks GNU's choice of 13/9 10/9 is a -0.037 mistake.

Annotation

Alex Zamanian: Definitely a good cube. White must hit a shot to win, and Red has plenty of flexibility with which to come home safely.

Despite the GNU evaluation results, I believe this a pass. Too often Red will have no problems coming home safely. I believe GNU is overestimating how bad it for Red to have the 6 point stripped and several checkers buried deep in his board. Neither damages Red's position that much. He'll have plenty of time to spread out his spares.

Bots: The position hadn't been rolled out initially as both Snowie and GNU thought it was a clear Double/Take with similar evaluations. The rollouts confirmed Zamanian's evaluation.
