Here's an amusing puzzle that I just thought of (though maybe others have
thought of it before). Concoct a position in which White is too good to
double, but where his worst roll necessarily leaves *Black* too good to
double. (So that the puzzle makes sense, assume that the cube is in the
center and that there is no Jacoby rule.)
I believe I have a solution, but will wait a bit before posting to give
others a chance to think about it.
For those with access to bots, the puzzle could be refined to: Find the
position and the roll that causes the greatest possible drop in equity,
even if the roll is played optimally. (When I say "refined," I'm tacitly
assuming that the solution to the latter puzzle is necessarily a solution
to the original puzzle. I suppose this might not be true, but I would be
surprised.)
