It would have the structure of Magriel, but with vastly expanded
sections on doubling, tournament play, backgames and other advanced
techniques. A large section on bots and interpreting rollouts. It would
be free of typos and misplaced diagrams, unlike Robertie. After reading
the book and understanding its contents properly, the reader will have
reached a level of understanding of the game such that he or she will be
able to do 3-ply rollouts in their head.

It would be a book worthy of the game. None of this "Backgammon for
Plasma" stuff. It would be half-bound in morocco and vellum, with the
simple, noble title "The Game of Backgammon" in gold leaf. It would be
printed on good paper with 4-colour diagrams (thousands of these, each
with a rollout summary).

Throughout the book, to lighten the consistantly high tone of the main
text, there would be anecdotes, reminiscences from top players, quotes
from world literature concerning backgammon, specially commissioned
works of art. And the appendixes! Probability; Annotated Matches by the
Greats; a Glossary; Chouette Rules (to settle arguments - this book
would be *authoritative*); Rules of Backgammon Variants; Notes on
psychological considerations. Periodically it would be (accurately)
reported that someone has been killed in order to get the book.

Any publishers out there?
