Checker play versus cube play
|
If you use Snowie, it easily shows you an average of the Match Winning
Chances (in a percentage) you give up with the various categories of
errors. MWC is probably more interesting in this context because it is
directly tied to whether the match was actually won or lost.
In the combined statistics of my last 200 matches, it looks like this:
Checkers: 10.436%
Wrong doubles: 0.607%
Missed doubles: 1.039%
Wrong takes: 0.419%
Wrong passes: 0.237%
As you can see, almost 82% of the errors that affect your chance to win
the match are tied up in checker plays. The main reason is that you
have so many more checker plays to consider, even though the cube
decisions are generally worth a lot more.
If you are asking 'which is more important', I would have to say from
the above analysis that checker play is a lot more important, but it
certainly is easy to throw away a lot of matches with bad cube actions
as well.
